lately ...

Lately, life is going to stay in places, i've been busy last months, everybody thinks a makeover at home would take just few weeks... like yeah right! is like 5 months since i started this project of renovation! water pipes, floor titles, building and enlarging rooms... it sounds like i did all that job, but not, but what i did is paying bills and i'm so grateful for all that different jobs that i had so i can afford this huge change in the home... later in another post i'll tell you the story of this adorable place, but in the meanwhile, doing all this hard work was with heavy materials, cement, bricks, and hard material of construction, the fact i was able to afford just makes me happy and lucky girl (tears of joy) dad would be so proud of what i've been doing this past years (thank you life!!)
So, i also been looking for ideas for home, i'm gonna sew a oilcloth banner, need some inspirational quote for my home... but i just found on Etsy great ideas for decoration in all senses!

People collect... what to collect?

I used to think that some collectors and curators got similar jobs, i mean, like very punctual things in common...They do both select an item, object, idea... they also do a quite peculiar selection over that, like is not just collect to put everything stuffed in a wall o shelf, they are hunger to find a rare item, a treasure to preserve on their selection...
I took a class of curators, was so clarifying about the ideas, humans tend to keep and collect but what's the difference? is the intentions (on my conclusions) over it..
i went to a toy museum, but didn't look much like a museum, was more likely to be a extravagant collection of a toy enthusiast person.. i did like it a lot of toys that was so nostalgic and keep alive some childhood memoirs, i left the place feeling that i need it more information, something to learn more over the full wall stuffed with toys, souvenirs, dolls, cars and else... was a nice place to visit and may probably visit in some few years... but left it thinking about what to collect?.... what do you collect??

 

i do love colors

 I do love colors, i wish more colorful things, like in all my home of course, the palette of my paintings and also with all my outfit... funny cuz i wear more neutral colors or dark colors, i just realize that i should wear more colorful clothes and barely got it in my wardrobe (oh well..) but what i love is to mix colors in my paintings, also mix colorful oilcloth pattern and make different garlands with lots of colors... so lately i thinking in quotes, like in books, in poems.... quotes to encourage or cheer up, i guess is i'm thinking in how to make a place looks and feel cozy and make it better... so i've been sewing, searching for vintage thinks for my home and just want to make my place to look great...
What do you do when you want to make a place look better?
Advices are welcome...

Etsy finds au naturel

 Yes, i've been quite busy from here to there, sometimes i procrastinate like a lot, and sometimes i don't even know what day it is... but lately i just try to stay active in Etsy, i do enjoy putting extra gifts to all my customers and make an extra effort to be creative with my garlands and banner quotes and still! this is what i found lately, there's a reason... gonna explain myself..
Lately i've been quite interested in lingerie and undies like... i took classes of how to sew it and now is like a trend and omG! need to keep update on how to sew it, materials and i can't help it! so au naturel because is almost autumn, is nice the warm colors ..

installing is a work in progress

I'm not gonna lie to you guys, i know moving is quite hard tho although fixing, repairing and installing is a rough work in progress! so far that's the only corner clear zand nice in the house, no kidding, my painting studio is still in progress, i've got to declutter, organice according to my needs and activities (plan is just painting and sewing room but may probably be just painting studio..) 
The rest of the house is a total mess, actually i call it a work in progress, i need to fix, paint, repair and do lots of stuff some of the i already did but even when i love to be so handy as my dad, sometimes i just ask for help or assistance because is a hard work to do, i would love to do it myself but really is hard.. 
Good thing my room is almost done, closets are already clean, clear and painted in white but my kitchen is from depression era and hopefully, soon will be ready and according to my plan, i do hope that would look so kitschy, so bright and kinda retro, kinda Almodovar's set (cross fingers and will be open for other ideas)

Yup you can check for sure what i want according to my pinterest choices and selections... Expect more work in progress, wish me luck and send me good vibes

 oh well, i've been quite busy lately, i kinda abandon my blog but i've been busy on my etsy shop, in between my jobs, artworks, home and hobbies, sometimes i amaze myself how i handle it...

i paint what i want...

 So, i was invited to collaborate in an art project to make some illustrations... was pretty fun actually! like mixing colors, drawing and using the color palette i adore... blue, mints, yellows....
 in some way i did some experiment with the colors... but was fine, then i decided to keep painting in acrylic painting, i mainly use oil painting but well... gotta try to push my skill and take my chances doing something different and else...
What do you think?! i did it on canvas...! I put two of this on my Etsy shop, so ready to get! take a look!! 

oh boy....

So, how i overcome my fears, project what i love and what i like over my own insecurity... in front of a bunch of kiddos and teenagers... well.... i just do the best on me and the best on what i know... i've got to say, i get so easily get frustrated when things are not going over the direction or the way i wanted to go, i guess i may take things so strict and i guess that is fine, when strict is just about me but i can't demand it in the same way when is about other.. so i guess i'm gonna lose a lil bit just for the kiddos, just for the fun and the learning...

This year and this job will be to me a challenge and i hope to have so much fun over my kranky mood and personality... wish me luck with my kiddos and teens....

in March we march...

Let's make it clear, in 8 of March is not a celebration, we commemorate women, women who fight, who rise and demand better salary and better jobs, more education, public charges and more opportunities in the society... So this may be some books that me and some girl friends recommend to read... not because are feminist books but because books may be the answer, it also may be a heal, a company, a partner, a light, a step, a reason and may be also the word that we can't express by ourselves ....

Can't help myself i love a loooot of things on Etsy... from vintage shoes to all decoration stuff... i was really busy this past weeks, and i'll be so busy this next weeks, can't complain! i love to be busy and full of ideas and projects... after my workshop in the bookfair i had a really bad time with some food poisoning and awful flu... it was kinda obvious the flu, i spend 11 hours at day working with almost 300 kids at day... life happens tho... petit painting

This is the thing... lately i've been working with watercolor and making studios, it is kinda new on my process, something i didn't do before to start a painting and seriously, i started to like it like a LOT! you know, i'm kinda impulsive person, i used to start to hit the canvas with just a few sketches and else but now, i really think and try to land my idea before to hit with colors... should this be called a grown process on my creations? i really don't know but i keep all this watercolors and studies close by... now is part of me and the rest of the pieces...

Love this season of the year, is summer, here is our little indian summer, so rainy, so fresh and even when is humid and my hair can't stand it, i really don't care...

is almost a month since the opening of the art exhibition, i've got to go and take some pics because i need some pro images of my paintings plus, i need to keep it on the record and else... the opening was pretty good and crowded, all the artworks was amazing and the best was that you can see different techniques and diversity of ideas and formats which makes the exhibition very rich in languages...
So i took a few pics from my smartphone... so i do really enjoyed everything... i guess i should start working on my next paintings and see what it comes now on it...

outdoors is for...

Lately i've been hanging out with a new friends and people who had the same (or similar) interest like me, paint landscapes and the cool thing is that we been together and going to public places to make studies, draws at outdoors and seriously is a very relaxing activity, i really really miss to do this, why i didn't do this before? i mean, i've been hanging out alone and never came to my mind to do this in different places and areas!! i went to the beach, forest and well, why i didn't do it? i guess i'm very shy or insecure, i try to carry a notebook to write ideas that pop up in my mind but well, is nice to hang out with friends and people.. 
anyway, my paintings and draws are quite simple, i guess i need to practice and do this more often and leave my shy attitude behind (if you do this, for sure you would have people that may probably approach you to see what are you painting...) anyway... this are a few views and some sketches....
