chasing places

This has been a huge change to me... change and an giant remake of my place... i do really wish this could be faster, but all process takes time. I finally could make it to afford the makeover that i've been dream on, yes, was a big effort, yes, my family is helping me in some way and i'm so grateful with all of them, yes, i finally could find someone that can help me to make this changes and he is so honest working on it, cuz is a big hard work, yes, i earned a lot, taking several jobs to do this makeover and i'm so thankful with all the people that help me in several ways... but in the mean time, i'm still here, busy as bee, working on my paintings, on my classes and taking jobs in between... wish me luck and all the best, i'm still doing what i can and keeping my way to get the art studio of my dreams...luv you people!

knock knock...

Guess i haven't been busy around here... but trust me, i've been quite busy lately! between classes, handling job and art projects... (but at least i've been doing great and having fun too... stressed too but still, has been fun around...)
news? museums are still my kind of thing to visit... more news? new paintings at my studio of course.... more and more news? traveling this year like i always wanted! and that's a good thing for this fondly routine breaker person of me... like, i wish i do really wish to travel often even when i go back tired but what can i say folks? travel is a refresh to me! breath new air and scents on the roads and cities! eat and try new food around (don't care if i get sick on my stomach...)
This year was such a nice thing to visit México city, between you and me it wasn't my kind of city... wasn't is the key word... is now for me... walking around in the downtown area, take the subway and praying deeply to not been there if there's an earthquake... God only know how scary could be that...
So, i'll share some of my fav photos that i took there... thank you year 2023 to let me stay busy, working and traveling in things that i totally adore!

something new and something old...

well, as you may notice, i've been kinda off from here but i've got a good reasons, i've been really busy working on my next workshop for the bookfair and also because i've been invited to participate in art exhibitions and oh well... time flies and working under pressure doesn't allow you much to do other stuff, plus i can distract so easily, is hard to keep my attention and focus doing just one thing so this is not a whining post at all, is more like that i'm so glad that i love to be busy doing the things i love to do... and even with that... i sew this tote bag!! isn't gorgeous? i'm really proud of my creation!! so i put it on my etsy shop with a gorgeous pair of heels, not my size otherwise i should be wearing it.. is seriously my type of shoes! so feminine and the color is really bright, vermillion! what do you think about it? i'll try to post more, this is my fav season of the year... is raining (not man..) but is raining almost everyday!!

This past days has been pretty rainy, not like just a few drops, like pretty badly storms! (in some way i was almost to take a couple of each animal's species and put in an ark!!) was pretty badly, but after all the chaos and else, the air is so fresh, although some trees around town can fall for the rain and the wind... i guess is the bad part when it rains...
I get deeply soak one day when the rain catch me in the street in the downtown area... i took some pics of my town after all, and it was pretty nice the air...

Decoration goals

It was a quick and busy days, my brother and i went to fast visit to CdMx and even when we didn't went to visit some museums or other places, i've got to say that i totally enjoyed having such a great time with my brother! in some way, we been apart not because we decided to be like that but our jobs, lives and else, and yes! we hang out and get along often, with our partners or with our family, but in some way, me and him are so closed and had so much things in common, guess like other brother and sister's had, but since we were kids we used to play along, had lots of friends in common... but well, i may probably loosing my point in this post...
After 2 trippy and bussy days in an Artist and independent crafter's bazaar, we did a quick stop by with a friend of Alfredo... Johnny and his partner Carlos lives in a small and cute apt, that since the first time i saw it, it was pure eye candy to me!
If i can, if i would i may probably had something like this for my place, but, my hubby doesn't agree much with so colorful and kitschy things around home, and actually, i do like to decorate my place according to my paintings... still, secretly, i've got big crush for orange, pinks, yellow and vivid and bright colors... guess i should put some on my paint and forget the blues

pastel crush...

This post will be one that i'll confess about my contradiction with pastel colors... it's a tender color for my eyes, is like an eye candy!! although i don't have this colors at my place or in my wardrobe, because are too girly (i'm so tomboy for this colors...) i know, i know is so absurd that i like it but also i can't put it around me, i can't even explain that to me... I feel so confortable with the grays, blues, blacks but pastels? the idea it kinda rounds on my head like use it and paint soft pink skies, fluffy lavender clouds, old building painted in mint, maybe everybody got that kind of contradictions and is not just me... i really hope not to be the one like that and if that's the case, i may probably put some remedy on it, perhaps i've got to let it flow and put some pastel colors here and there, even when my inner tomboy says noup...
PS: i use the great app a color story for my photos while i was walking around the downtown...

quilts and quilts...

This was the 2nd year that my sister participe in an shop and exhibition of quilts and handmade goodies... And silly me, i thought that in México nobody made quilts!!!! but oooh no! there's a big comunity, a lot of people likes to work in this hard technique! There was a very impressive artworks, some in exhibition only and other for sale, I particularly got a problem to appreciate it and is not because the work or dedication to requires because are quite nice, is more about a color thing, is just i found it so serious, although I'm not saying that are perfectly made!
My sister put a few of her own but a very mix and variety of what she made, dresses for girls (a cousin and I suggest her that those dresses could be work for an adult..) accessories and quilts... she doesn't want to appear on the photo when i took it... but those hangers that you see there with the girl face, was painted by me! :)

in my hands...

I'm not a person who likes flowers, i mean, don't misunderstand me, however, if i get or someone gave me a bouquet of flowers i'll definitely accept it! what i'm try to say is i'm not that kind of person who just took photos of flowers all the time!... and yes i know, they are pretty and else, although i know that with this post i've been in it totally contradiction about what i just said, but i've got a reason.. i took a photo of an orchid! which is not easy to find, unless if you buy it but find it in nature?.. or did you see orchids in every tree??... now you've got the point...?

a little break

Is June, in Guadalajara the weather feels so humid, in the air you can feel and smell the humid, of course, is so much worst when is in a big city, but when i had the chance to going out and spend a few days with my family, of course i didn't think it so long and we went to there!!!
I've got family in Denver, and sometimes they come to visit my big family or sometimes we go with them, this time they decided to spend some days at the beach and they invited us my parents and me and oh woW! what a days with my family! we stayed at a rented house near to the beach so we didn't feel the heat because we spend an awesome days, the sunset was just spectacular and everything was really wonderful!
My nephew and nieces are growing and they speak more spanish, i play a lot with them, we swim, we saw the gorgeous views and the nature that is really beautiful, big big mangoes trees, pineapples everywhere, flowers and lots of coconut palms, it reminds me this song that said: en el mar la vida es mas sabrosa! (in the beach the life is very joyful!)
I do really wish spend more days again in the beach and enjoy the sun and sand.

from granny wardrobe...

Confession number, ehm.. i just miss the count.. i'll tell it anyway, lately i've been watching and looking all around in pinterest about some tutorials to makeover some of my clothes, i've seen so many blogs that posts about it (i think the 3R are not, not bad at all!) so, i made an exchange with a few lovely ladies who had a charity bazaar outside of a church, i gave them a few of my clothes in exchanges of one dress (i think it used to belong to a nun), and the dress is quite simple, i think if i choose it was because it had pockets, it is not vintage and i do think that is homemade, it doesn't have any label... so this are my conclusions:
-Look a good tutorial, you may find a lot and different but if you got doubts about it just keep looking on the web, i find some in my pinterest board
-You better know your size, my dress was something like L, i am a S or even petite, i hesitate when i was going to cut the fabric, i didn't want to spoil it, but if your case is like mine, for sure you gonna cut more fabric that you thought..
-Identify the fabric of your dress, in my case i think it had a small amount or maybe non of cotton, so it was more difficult due the stretch of the fabric
-Be creative, i like the patterned fabric although is a little bit dull, my original idea was to use sharpies but then i thought that i wont be last forever and it will be washed away, so i use a fabric paint and i like it so much...
It was a dress from granny wardrobe, i made a "sexy back" dress...
