Embroidery with love

So i went to the museum, and i found this exhibition kinda by mistake, wasn't my intention to see it, i went to see another exhibition but oh well... and oh dear! i fell in love! as you may know i'm a huge fan of embroidery! like more for fun and hobby than else, it helps me when i'm freaking stressful or just because i like it and that's it... so this exhibition is about love letters or so, embroidered in handkerchief, in Portugal, the young couples uses this tradition as a declaration of love, the girl embroider the handkerchief with a poem or rhyme with a very delicacy design, unique and personal for the lucky guy.. the tradition had like a 100 years, at our days is still present but now the guys can embroider too... i took some pics, i love everything! it was impossible not to! 

Sunday will be for...

I went to the Art Museum and it was a pretty cool exhibition.... So this is what it looks like the earth library... is a project of an artist collaborating with other persons that can contribute to this peculiar and different library... the idea is to collect earth, pebbles, stones or dirt from around the world, so you can deliver the souvenir with all this proper data about the place where was collected and then see all this big collection... i totally loved the idea!! don't you?!

petit ami...

Tengo un pequeño amiguito, estaba en casa de mi hermana, su jardinero lo encontró y decidí cuidarlo mientras crece... No sé que sexo tiene, asi que decidí llamarle con un nombre "unisex"...
Ziggy, porque asi lo llamé, duerme mucho, le gusta mucho beber la leche tibia, dormir en mi ropa sucia o dentro de mis zapatos, acurrucarse en mi cabello y me ha enseñado mucho a ser paciente.. Cuando crezca volverá al bosque de donde lo encontré, espero no apegarme mucho porque debo confesar que me gusta dormir siestas con Ziggy...
I've got a little friend, it was found it on my sister's home, her gardener found it and i decide it to keep it and take care of it while it grows... I'm not sure about the gender, so i decided to put it an unisex name... Ziggy, cuz' that's how i called it, likes to sleep a lot, it drinks a lot of warm milk, he sleeps on my laundry or inside of my shoes, he likes cuddle and tangled on my hair and also he also teach me to be very patience...
When Ziggy grows up, it will go back to the forest where was find it. i'll hope no to be very attached  because i must to confess, i love to take naps with Ziggy... 

pastel crush...

Este será el post del que confesaré un poco mi contradicción con los colores pasteles... acarician mi pupila, son mi deleite visual! pero no los tengo ni en mi casa ni en mi ropa, son también muy girly (me siento muy tomboy para estos colores..) Yo sé que es un tanto absurdo que me agraden y a su vez no quiera incluirlos en nada conmigo, ni yo puedo explicarlo realmente... Me siento cómoda con los grises, azules, negros pero pasteles? en mi cabeza ronda la idea de pintar cielos rosas, nubes color lavanda, edificios en verde menta, tal vez todo mundo tenga ese tipo de gustos contradictorios.. espero no ser la única y de ser así, trataré de ver como poner remedio a ello, quizá deba dejarme llevar por ello y poner en mi vida los tonos pasteles, aunque mi tomboy interno diga que no...
PS: usé filtros de la genial app a color story mientras caminaba por el centro de la ciudad..

This post will be one that i'll confess about my contradiction with pastel colors... it's a tender color for my eyes, is like an eye candy!! although i don't have this colors at my place or in my wardrobe, because are too girly (i'm so tomboy for this colors...) i know, i know is so absurd that i like it but also i can't put it around me, i can't even explain that to me... I feel so confortable with the grays, blues, blacks but pastels? the idea it kinda rounds on my head like use it and paint soft pink skies, fluffy lavender clouds, old building painted in mint, maybe everybody got that kind of contradictions and is not just me... i really hope not to be the one like that and if that's the case, i may probably put some remedy on it, perhaps i've got to let it flow and put some pastel colors here and there, even when my inner tomboy says noup...
PS: i use the great app a color story for my photos while i was walking around the downtown...

Un vistazo rápido en lo que ando trabajando últimamente, casi terminado y listo para hacer miniquilt para mi tienda en etsy... veré mas en que puedo trabajar, mientras realizo obras de mudanza a mi depa, me hago de compañía de mi mascota favorita...
A very quick peek in what i've been working lately, is almost finish it and will be ready for a miniquilt in my etsy shop... i will see what else can i work on, while i'll do packing and moving to my apt, got a nice company of my favorite pal...

Desde hace 5 años mi hermano ha vuelto como tradición ver la ceremonia de los premios de la academia con toda gala, alfombra roja, vino blanco en copas, unas cuantas entradas y postres en abundancia!! Su sala se vuelve un pequeño teatro para recibir a sus invitados que llegaran despues de caminar por la alfombra roja, también cada invitado hará sus predicciones en una lista sobre los candidatos en cada categoría a participar.. (yo solo pude adivinar 8 de toda la lista...)
La pasé muy bien como siempre! ahora me falta solamente ver las peliculas nominadas.
 
Since 5 years ago, my brother does some sort of tradition to see the academy award with all the finery, red carpet, white wine in glasses, some delicious entrees and lots of desserts!! His living room becomes in a little theater to welcome his guest that arrive after walk thru the red carpet and also every guest will had a list of all the category so they can put their prediction of it.. (i only could guess 8 of all the list...)
I had a great time as always! now i only need to watch all the nominee films.

Metiendo la pata...

"Metí la pata" es la forma en que decimos en México cuando algo malo nos pasa o en mi caso cuando caí de unas escaleras...ouuuch!!... mi médico me ha dicho: no tacones, no bicicleta, no hagas esfuerzos, no cargues nada pesado, no corras y mejor reposa... creo que sólo asi estaría pintando y bordando y haciendo todas esas cosas que en otra circunstancia no haría...!

"Metí la pata" that's what we said in Mexico when we did something wrong or in my case when i fall down stairs.... ouuuch!!... my doctor said: do not wear high heels, do not ride your bike, not any kind of effort, don't carry nothing heavy, do not run and you better rest at home... so i guess this is the only way to force me to paint and embroide and do all those kind of things the i didn't do at other circunstance...!

oh weekend!!

Tuve buen fin de semana, jugos de diferentes vegetales, flores que me ha regalado mi madre, un poco de bordado, un poco de todo.... relax totalmente... I had a really good weekend, i drank a very different kind of juices of vegatables, got a bouquet of flowers from my mom, a did a little bit of embroidery, a little bit of everything.... in totally relax...PS have you seen that my sister got a giveaway?! well, you can have the oportunity to get in!! is her 2nd aniversary of her blog!! hurray for my sister!!!

Away from the City...

Debo de agradecer a mi hermana por haberme invitado a salir de la ciudad por un instante (no me malinterpreten.. me gusta estar en la ciudad, pero a veces es bueno estar fuera de ella...) asi que dimos un paseo por Tapalpa, un pueblo unico y especial, entre bosques y un clima frío pero fresco... quiero regresar de nuevo por mi planta de zarzamoras!!!

I must to thanks to my sister because she invited me to go out of city just for a while (don't get me wrong... i like to be on town, but sometimes is good to go out of there...) so we hang out on Tapalpa, an unique and special town, between woods and a cold weather but with fresh... i want to go back for my blackberries plant!!!

Far from the City...

Pasé el fin de semana en el pueblo de mi madre, así que he dado un paseo por el pequeño museo del pueblo, que es todo un pequeño tesoro lleno de lindas imagenes e historias... Trae a la mente toda una serie de buenos recuerdos y el sentimiento de nostalgia de una historia nunca vivida pero que parecieran que alguna vez las viví....

I spent the weekend in my mom's hometown, so i did a little walk around and hang out on the little museum of the town, is a little treasure filled with a nice images and stories... It brings to my mind a bunch of good memories and the feeling of nostalic feelings about some history never lived but it seems the i lived once...
