near to the lake...

Me encanta esta temporada del año, es verano, pero el verano en Jalisco no es como los veranos en otros lados, es lluvioso, es fresco y nublado (algo gris no?) pero al contrario que muchos creerían es todo un alivio, la razón es porque los meses previos (Marzo, Abril, Mayo y algo de Junio) son meses muy calurosos, te derrite, aunque según otras personas es "cálido" en comparación de otros lugares... Asi que salí a Chapala con una agradable compañía, me gusta mucho este lago, el mas grande del país y en esta temporada, no hay sol que moleste... 

I love this season of the year, is summer, but the summer in Jalisco is not like another summer in other places, is rainy, is fresh and cloudy (kinda gray isn't?) but au contraire what many would think is a totally relief, the reason is because the past months (March, April, May and a little bit of June) are month terrible hot, it melts you, although acording to some persons they would say is "warm" comparing with another places...
So i went to hang out in Chapala lake with a nice company, i like a lot this lake, is the biggest in our country and in this season, there's no sun to bothers you...

new toy

Recibí una liiiiiiinda máquina de coser regalo de mi hermana, la he usado poco, tengo que familiarizarme con sus funciones y demás aditamentos, me gusta su diseño y el color que tiene, no he cosido mucho pero lo primero que hice para probarla fué un lindo garland con oilcloth!

I get a reaaaaally lovely sewing machine as gift of my sister, i used just a few times, i've got to get used to it with their functions and the rest of the parts, i like the design and the color of the buttons, i haven't sewed much but the first thing the i did was a pretty garland with oilcloth!

Stitchin' Frida

No hace mucho que había hecho este diseño, lo que no había hecho fué bordarlo, creo que era un poco de flojera, hace tiempo que tengo este diseño pero me entusiasmaba bordar otras ideas y otros dibujos... asi que finalmente lo terminé, le tomé fotos y ahora ya está en mi tienda en etsy :) (ok ok las fotos las tomó mi hermana...) ahora veré que mas puedo bordar...

Not long time ago i did this design, what i didn't do was embroider it, i guess i was a little bit lazy, because i've got this design but i didnt feel enthusiastic to work on it so i worked in another ideas and another design.. so i finally finish it, i took some pics and is now on my etsy shop :) (ok ok i didn't take the pics it was my sister...) now i've got to find what else can i embroider it...

family heritage

Recientemente mi hermana me devolvió unos bordados que hicieron mi nina y mi mamá, son unas muestras que llegaron hacer con diferentes tipos de puntadas, el de mi nina tiene ya casi cerca 80 años, lo hizo cuando ella tenía aproximadamente 7 u 8 años (ella nació en 1929...) y mi mamá hizo el suyo según recuerdo cuando yo era una niña (tal vez mas pero no lo sé de cierto) claro los tengo como unos tesoros, espero algún día hacer los mios...
Recently my sister gave me back some embroidery that my mom and nina made it, are a samples of they done about very different kind of stitches, the samples made it of Nina is like almost 80 years old, she made it when she was like 7 or 8 years old (she born in 1929...) and my mom made hers when as i remember it when i was a lil kid (as i may can remember it, need to confirm it) and of course i kept them as a treasure, i hope i can do one as my own...

The view

Finalmente me he mudado a un apartamento... lo deseaba desde hace tiempo!, aunque bueno, dejar otra vez la casa de mis padres (aun cuando ellos ya se acostumbraron..) no fué tan dificil, aunque creo que voy a extrañar muchas comodidades... pero lo que mas me gusta de mi nuevo lugar es la vista...

Finally i just move to an apt... i really wished it terribly!, although well, leave my parents house again (even when they used to it..) it wasn't so hard, but i'm gonna miss all this good life and amenities... but what i like most of my new place is the view...

Un vistazo rápido en lo que ando trabajando últimamente, casi terminado y listo para hacer miniquilt para mi tienda en etsy... veré mas en que puedo trabajar, mientras realizo obras de mudanza a mi depa, me hago de compañía de mi mascota favorita...
A very quick peek in what i've been working lately, is almost finish it and will be ready for a miniquilt in my etsy shop... i will see what else can i work on, while i'll do packing and moving to my apt, got a nice company of my favorite pal...

Estoy muy emocionada de volver otra vez con el lienzo, la pintura y los pinceles! (andaba un poco fuera de ánimo para pintar...), tengo una razón, este año vuelvo a participar en la muestra de arte gay que hay en la ciudad, es mi tercer año consecutivo y aunque mi obra no es siempre con este tema, a mi me gusta participar como una forma de apoyar la causa y mostrar mi empatía... Casi termino la obra, aunque me molestó los primeros dias por que no lograba los efectos que buscaba pero después de trabajar casi diario la obra casi está lista!

I'm very excited to be back with the canvas, paint and brushes! (i was a little bit out of mood to work on my paintings...), i've got a reason, this year i'll be participating in the exhibition of gay art in my town, is the 3rd year in a row and even when my artworks are not always with the gay subject, i like to participate as a way to support the cause and show my tolerance and empathy... I'm almost done with my painting, althought i was a little bit upset the first days because i couldn't get the effect that i was looking for but after work on it almost every day, is almost done!
